ETAP Arc Flash Calculators provide a powerful graphical tool for rapid assessment of multiples or batches of “what if” scenarios.
Having used SKM and Easy Power, ETAP by far is the most accurate and easy to use power analysis software. ETAP library is outstanding and easy to use. ETAP single lines also lets you very closely represent the actual system in the field. We even rebuilt one facility after a hurricane destroyed all the drawings. The customer service is excellent and very helpful. I have used ETAP since 1998. Rodney S. – Consulting Engineer

I am working with Arc Flash Hazard Study to generate Arc Flash Labels. Hence need to use Short Circuit, Protection Coordination Study software as well. I am very much impressed with the software, keeping in mind the user flexibility and the tested libraries provided to users for electrical components like relays, breakers etc., Run the program and easily understand the analysis – all at the fingertip of the user. I built from scratch and tested 20 ETAP model simulations with actual incidents on the field. I went through this testing effort, not for fun, but because each of the previous models built by third parties had significant issues. My findings: 1- Every ETAP simulated fault result matched actual fault incidents on the field—1,000 faults (all types of faults). I was quite impressed. I had all the data to simulate identical fault conditions and identical loading conditions with real incidents in the field over 10 years span. One arc flash event. I compared the arc fault current on the relay vs. the one simulated on ETAP, and they matched. Thierry Julio E. – Director of Electrical Engineering

I started using ETAP almost exclusively to conduct studies such as Arc Flash, Motor Starting, and Harmonics etc. Now I routinely find it easier to create a power model as part of my design efforts for a new project and take advantage of it to validate cable sizing, voltage drops, selecting/procuring properly coordinated protective devices and determining required AIC ratings before specifying new electrical gear. ETAP is probably the most widely used power modeling software so it is easy to share with other users. All of its functions and device editors are extremely thorough, offering an almost overwhelming number of study customization options. Overall, its use is intuitive. The online tutorials are excellent and tech support is great too. Giovanni P – Senior VP

Overall, ETAP is our go to software for Arc Flash Risk Assessment and makes it very easy for us to analyze and report on projects. We started using the ETAPApp so that field data collection is much faster and more efficient. Great addition to the software. Troy S – Project Engineer

We are solving power system design and protection studies including arc flash with ETAP. We benefit in being able to do the studies in-house. The software with its various modules is sufficiently versatile to cope with all of our applications. ETAP is regularly updated with new features and to the latest standards. Files can be exported in various formats, in case our client requires a different software format. One day we would like to do a project using ETAP Real-Time. David B – Director

I like that ETAP can produce Arc Flash Labels for you without having the user do manual calculations. The Scenario Wizard makes it easy to study different configurations for the circuit. Curtis W. – Safety Engineer
