Caneco BIM
Caneco BIM for electrical installation projects
BIM model integration with Caneco BT using the official Revit® plugin from ETAP
Overview
Caneco BIM is a Revit® plug-in for the design of electrical installations, enabling collaboration and ensuring compliance with electrical calculation standards.
This optional add-on to a Caneco subscription bridges the gap between electrical design and modern BIM workflows. It enables real-time Revit synchronization and the automated generation of precise cable routing in the BIM model using the electrical calculation project data from Caneco. By considering all existing objects in the BIM model to synchronize the data with Caneco, the solution delivers precise, standards-compliant dimensioning calculations alongside reliable diagrams and reports, enabling smooth, transparent collaboration across all trades.

Challenges
In any construction project, success relies primarily on coordination. Architects, engineers, design offices, and contractors must work closely together. Even the smallest change can have a significant impact on the project,
which is why careful management and continuous communication is essential. Controlling costs and meeting deadlines - despite uncertainties and unforeseen events - can further impact the project outcome. To achieve project delivery success, design workflows must be precise and proactive to avoid delays and cost overruns. On top of this, projects are becoming increasingly complex. Effective technical coordination is essential to prevent conflicts between disciplines.
For the design of electrical installations, specifiers and contractors have traditionally used several different applications for electrical calculation and design, which contributed to inefficiencies and oversights. An integrated software environment frees users from the challenge of entering the same information multiple times in different software packages, and ensures that all teams can work more effectively in synchronization with the latest updates in the digital model.
Caneco BIM addresses these challenges, enabling electrical design within a BIM environment, ensuring data integrity throughout the entire process, providing automated cable routing and many other time-saving features, validating compliance with standards and regulations and producing precise reports and comprehensive documentation.
