Workshop Description

This training is taught in English. This training is intended to give the users an in-depth training of the SEE Electrical Scale software. This document covers all three training sessions (3 hours each) provided. The sessions will be web based, conducted live, will not exceed 9 hours of total training, and each session occurring according to the live training schedule.  

Pre-Training Requirements:  

  • Review the information in the NFPA Training resources folder 
  • Install and license software with provided instructions and delivered license documentation 

Session 1 Outline: 

  • Introduction to software interface and important settings 
  • Create a new project and use workspace templates 
  • Layout schematics using symbols and templates from standard environment 
  • Use keyboard shortcuts for symbol placement and circuit layout 
  • Review page and project information  
  • Create custom symbols 
  • Review Graphical List creation  
  • Database views and editors usage

Session 2 Outline:  

  • Wire properties and signal types  
  • Automatic wire numbering setup 
  • Automatic tagging definition and renumbering symbols  
  • Review symbols with additional properties; terminal blocks, PLCs, Smart Boxes. 
  • Schematic page template formatting and title block modification  
  • Modify graphical list templates for filtering, sorting, and adding fields 
  • Make workspace templates  
  • PLC creation with main and signals  
  • PLC information management 
  • Functions and locations usage 

Session 3 Outline:  

  • Types database – adding, editing, importing, and exporting parts  
  • Equipment information download from Web Catalog 
  • Add Channel definitions for relays, contactors, and PLC devices  
  • Add new fields into Type database and incorporate into graphical list template  
  • 2D Cabinet layout and drawing overview 
  • Creating multi-level terminals, advanced components with auxiliaries, and multiple connectors 
  • Use components list to place component channels linked to parts 
  • Use Block groups to control multiple related symbols (PLC, terminal, plug/socket)  
  • Control wire from-to routes and terminal connections  
  • DXF/DWG import for symbols and schematics 
  • Advanced graphic shortcuts and features  
  • Redlining  
  • Project export 
  • Advanced commands  

 

Who should attend

Recommended for engineering teams new to SEE Electrical, new hires, and employees expanding their role within organizations that use currenty SEE Electrical. The course is designed for individuals with no previous CAD experience and experienced CAD users to build a foundational understanding of using SEE Electrical to build streamlined electrical design digital twins.
