Share Ideas & Improve Technical Proficiency

SoCal User Group Meeting, July 2017

The User Group Meeting July 18 started with a social get-together, giving Users the opportunity to share their practical experiences with ETAP, interact and network with other ETAP Users as well as employees.

Following the Social, SoCal User Group Chairmen Amir Haghpanah welcomed the attendees and gave an overview of the evenings topic “Transient Arc Current & Incident Energy Modeling Considerations”.

Albert Marroquin, Electrical Safety & Dynamics Engineering Division Manager and Raghu Veeraraghavan, Safety Division General Test Manager at ETAP presented the engineering background behind the “Fault Current Decay Method” and the “Incident Energy Subtraction” methodology with application examples for industrial and generation systems.

The presentation emphasized on how to apply the different ETAP arc flash tools for different types of systems in order to capture the most accurate transient arc fault current and energy results.
