ETAP & Manitoba HVDC Research Centre Technology Partnership

The interface between ETAP and PSCAD™ software is expected to be commercially available with the forthcoming software release of ETAP 14.

IRVINE, Calif. - November 18, 2014 — ETAP® and Manitoba HVDC Research Centre (MHRC), a division of Manitoba Hydro International Ltd. today announced that the interface between ETAP and PSCAD™ software is expected to be commercially available with the forthcoming software release of ETAP 14.

With this interface, engineering professionals can use ETAP for design and analysis and then exchange the system data into PSCAD to perform electromagnetic transient analyses, such as switching transients, insulation coordination, lightning surges, resonance and ferro resonance, etc.

“The interface provides the tool needed for the engineers to easily exchange data from ETAP to PSCAD to perform specialty studies,” said Tanuj Khandelwal, Chief Product Officer of ETAP. “ we are looking forward to a strong technology collaboration with MHRC and the PSCAD team.”
