Job Description:

Utilize strong analytical skills to evaluate and approve new test cases per the applicable quality assurance requirements including management of assigned software feature. Create and enhance test plans for new features specified in the general specification using Microsoft Word, Excel and Sharepoint. Estimate and assign test tasks to test engineers using RMTrack and JIRA. Review and approve completed test cases per testing requirement specification and development instructions using MathCAD and SQLCE DB compare tool. Create excel report template with Sqlite database. Utilize experience and knowledge of standard engineering and mathematical concepts and principles to develop design specifications for software products. Utilize phase matrix method published on IEEE paper for calculating short circuit results of distribution systems per ANSI C37-10, IEC 60909, and GOST standards. Develop new methods for verifying load flow results for center-tapped systems as well as AC-DC unified system. Develop design specifications for renewable energy related modules per standard IEC-61850-90-7, IEEE 1547, and EPRI Reports. Provide technical support for products in response to technical queries from customers/clients. Provide ticket and call support for installation and system modeling related questions using Help Desk. Provide solutions for load flow, short circuit, PD coordination, and arc flash coordination related issues. Repair corrupted project database using Stellar Phoenix Database Repair Tool. Provide power system modeling and analysis support for renewable and distribution systems. Work with companies or institutes and provide solutions for their inquiries to model and analyze distribution systems with renewable energy technology. Work with developers to design customized functions per project requests. Generate customized plots and reports using VBA and Matlab. Support ETAP software development activities. Design product UI with interface design tool. Develop tools for summarizing study results, comparing report databases, and verify ETAP engine results. Design display and report logic for developers. Work with developers for developing new features, debugging code and enhancing existing logic. Conduct meetings with development leads and managers. May work from home.



Qualification:

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess expertise/knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Such expertise/knowledge cannot be “quantified” by “time”. Required expertise/knowledge includes:

Education: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 2 years of experience inthe offered position or related position.

Other:

Job Site: 17 Goodyear, Irvine, CA 92618. 40 hours/week; salary range: $108,430 to $145,000 per year. If offered employment must have legal right to work in U.S. EOE
