Get a closer look at the new shortcuts in ETAP 2024 to enhance your productivity and efficiency. This webinar will focus on the tips, and tricks on using the wide array of time-saving new features in the new ETAP Unified Digital Twin application to streamline your workflows, improve modelling accuracy, and expedite project delivery.
What you’ll learn:
ETAP 2024 has introduced improvements that empower engineers, energy managers, and operators to focus on their projects with ease. Along the path to collecting and analyzing information, the engineer must perform many diverse activities. By using these new shortcuts, repetitive tasks can be reduced or eliminated. For example, providing links to external resources like asset information, and embedding data within the one line diagram (OLD) using a new drag and drop feature, can greatly reduce the time spent trying to locate this information. There are a great number of supported embedded items such as images like JPG files, and also PDF, documents, text files, and spreadsheets. You’ll learn how to maintain links to multiple documents in a project within the new tabular and searchable view panel, including viewing the path or URL link, description, and whether to show them in a DataBlock. This feature will be very useful for saving time looking up vendor catalogs or settings files which are stored externally.
Another tip that will be discussed is the ability to customize the outline shape of annotation comments and embedded QR Codes, which helps to support collaboration and prevent oversights. By using presentation views of the single line diagram, you can prepare a view that displays this annotation, and another where your study presentation has them hidden.
We’ll dig into shortcuts offered by the new Component Toolbox, which provides the ability to add components into Favorites to place your commonly used items together. You can also find components using a search function, more easily access build methods (Auto Build, Auto Complete, etc.), and provide the ability to adjust the size of each icon in the toolbox.
We also have some tips related to the new enhancements to interoperability -Connectors - between even more data environments, whether they are other diagramming tools, CAD, spreadsheet, or GIS data, to save time when bringing data into ETAP, or exporting to other formats for collaboration. We’ll take a look at the new locations where you’ll find these data exchange options within the ETAP PowerRibbon™ menu and in the Backstage area.
The webinar will also provide tips for improving the representation of the model by utilizing the thousands of new engineering models, including new HV breakers, power cables, relays, solar panels, and vendor-specific protection libraries that have been verified and validated by manufacturers. To get you up to speed with the new Digital Twin Elements to use for network visualization, we’ll take a look at the new ones - including Autotransformers, Control Power Transformer (CPT), DC Capacitors, Passive Filter, Power Grid Single Phase, and Long Line Transmission and Cabling.
After attending this webinar, we hope your key takeaway is that ETAP 2024 is not merely an update; it's a transformative leap forward. We've carefully listened to customer feedback, understood their challenges, and endeavored to surpass their expectations.
