The Houston User Group met September 12 to network, learn & share experiences about Transient Arc Current & Incident Energy Modeling Considerations. Zia Salami - Principal Electrical Engineer at ETAP covered the engineering background behind the “Fault Current Decay Method” and the “Incident Energy Subtraction” methodology with application examples for industrial and generation systems. The presentation emphasized on how to apply the different ETAP arc flash tools for different types of systems in order to capture the most accurate transient arc fault current and energy results. The User Group Meeting concluded with an open discussion.
