Solution

They chose ETAP, a full turnkey solution, for centralized and remote network operations and management, based on the digital twin model of their electrical network. 

eSCADA Software for substation operations and load management​

Benefits

Within months, working hand-in-hand with ETAP engineers, a new SCADA system for substation operation and load management was commissioned. City of Azusa is now able to closely monitor their substations and loads of each feeder, essential during summer months with peak loads averaging 60 MW compared to the normal average of 40 MW.

  • Electric Division Maintains and Operates 2 12 KV Distribution Substations​
  • 20 Feeders combined Consists of 66 Miles of Overhead & 59 Miles of Underground Feeder Lines​
  • Average Summer Peak Load is 60 MW , Normal Peak Load Average is 40 MW​
