Cable Thermal Analysis
underground thermal analysis

Cable Thermal Analysis helps engineers to design cable systems to operate to their maximum potential while providing secure and reliability operation. The advanced graphical interface allows for design of cable raceway systems to meet existing and future needs by using precise calculations to determine required cable sizes, their physical capabilities, and maximum derated ampacity. In addition, transient temperature analysis computes temperature profiles for cable currents, reducing the risk of damage to cable systems under emergency conditions.

Cable Pulling
cable pulling

Accurate prediction of cable pulling forces is essential for the proper design of cable systems. This knowledge makes it possible to avoid under-estimated and/or over-conservative design practices to achieve substantial capital savings during construction. The Cable Pulling module accounts for multiple cables of different sizes and allows complex 3-D pulling path geometry. A point-by-point calculation method is performed at every conduit bend and pull point. Both the forward and reverse pulling tensions are calculated for determining the preferred direction of pull.

Control Systems
control systems

ETAP seamlessly integrates the analysis of power and control circuits within one electrical analysis program. The Control System Diagram (CSD) simulates the sequence-of-operation of control devices such as solenoids, relays, controlled contacts, multi-sequence contacts, and actuators including inrush conditions.

CSD has the capability of determining pickup and dropout voltages, losses, and current flows at any time instance as well as overall marginal and critical alerts. A large library of equipment enables engineers to quickly model and simulate the action of relays associated with control interlocks after given time delays.

Data Exchange
data exchange - import / export data

The ETAP Data Exchange module (DataX) is used to import, export, and synchronize data between external data sources and ETAP. DataX transforms legacy data into ETAP, interfaces ETAP to external architecture such as GIS systems, AutoCAD, Microstation, or synchronizes ETAP with other applications. Customizable data mapping, intelligent error checking, and automated one-line diagram generator are amongst the many utilities with DataX.

GIS Map
GIS map

ETAP GIS Map superimposes electrical one-line diagrams with the corresponding geographical maps of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems. Synchronize relevant electrical equipment information from GIS into ETAP and maintain the relationship between them. You can open unlimited views of GIS maps within ETAP, allowing you to manipulate GIS maps while working in ETAP. The analysis results are then displayed on geographical maps providing an effortless view of the power system states within GIS Map.
