Electromagnetic Field Intensity Evaluation

Underground Conductor Electromagnetic Fields

Underground Conductor Electromagnetic Fields

Electromagnetic Field Intensity Evaluation
The magnetic field exposure analysis tool is integrated with the underground cable systems (UGS) analysis module, and it determines the worst-case magnetic fields produced by conductors in underground raceways. The tool handles various 3-phase conductor layouts including flat and trefoil as well 1/C and 3/C 1-phase cables, dc cables, etc. The tool uses balanced & unbalanced load-flow currents and angles to determine the location and surface-level height of the worst-case magnetic field because of all conductors in the raceway.

Key Features

  • Based on CIGRE JTF 36-0121
  • Exposure to Surface Magnetic Fields from Underground Conductor Installations
  • Evaluate Field Intensity Limits per IEEE C95.6-2002,
    ICNIRP – 2010 & ACGIH – 2002
  • Consider 3/C, 1/C, 3-P and 1-P AC & DC Conductor Currents
  • Automatic filtering of Ferromagnetic Conduits
  • User-Defined Permeability CF
  • Validated against actual site measured magnetic fields
Magnetic field exposure analysis features
