The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded a major microgrid contract to the Advanced Power and Energy Program (APEP) at the University of California, Irvine in collaboration with ETAP, MelRok, and Southern California Edison. The goal of the research is to establish protocols and specifications for a generic microgrid controller (GMC).
