Social (5:30 pm): Networking opportunity for attendees, snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Presentation (6:00 pm): This presentation is an introduction to StarZ™ which provides a new solution to minimize relay setting errors and the time required to perform protection and coordination studies. Behind the intuitive StarZ user interface is a powerful engine for modeling and evaluating model-specific protection elements such as distance, directional, and load encroachment. This allows the user to interact with the actual settings and protection functions while obtaining realistic responses. This presentation will focus on:
- Protective device sequence-of-operation using StarZ
- Advanced Direction (67) protection settings
- Use of Load Encroachment (LDE) with Overcurrent (50/51) protection for increased security
- Distance / Impedance (21) relay setting and performance evaluation
- Use of Scheme Logic for Relay Digital Communication and better system coordination
- Simulation of actual analog and digital I/Os
- State Plots for Protective Devices (Relays, Fuses, Breakers, Reclosers etc.)
- Remote connectors for CTs and PTs
