Smart Grid - Distribution Contingency

ETAP Contingency Analysis (CA) allows users to define component outage and failure scenarios. From the user defined scenarios, both system N-1 and N-2 contingencies are studied. ETAP CA employs a fast screen algorithm to select a ranked contingency list for detailed studies.

Various performing indices are available and selectable for the fast contingency screen and ranking. A full AC load flow is applied to perform detailed studies to give the maximum accuracy in the analytical results. Based on user defined voltage and branch limits and other system operating condition violation criteria, violation warming and alarm reports are generated. Limits and violations can be based on either component ratings or component base case operating values.
