Protection Engineer / Relay Engineer

Position Summary

Electrical Engineer that has extensive knowledge of design of protective systems for electrical industrial and utility systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Protective coordination studies
  • Apply engineering application software to perform power system analysis and design
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Capability to utilize standard engineering and mathematical concepts and principles in the design, coding, and testing of software components
  • Proficiency in modeling and analysis for industrial and distribution power systems
  • Requires knowledge of the fundamental principles of electrical engineering as well as protective relaying experience, practical relaying field experience is preferred
  • Must have skills to prepare conceptual relay and control designs, prepare relay operating descriptions, perform calculations and relay settings
  • Strong analytical skills for use in response to technical queries from customers/clients
  • Computer Skills related to creation of reports and presentations in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

Education

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering (power elective courses required)
  • M.S. in Power System Engineering (preferred)
