Automation and Control Engineer

Position Summary

The Automation and Control Engineer provides support in the integration and development of ETAP Real-Time Enterprise application.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To support Integration of ETAP Real-Time Enterprise applications
  • To set up communication network for SCADA type applications
  • To provide field commissioning & support
  • To perform power system analysis and design
  • To support ETAP development activities including product support, software testing, and other related tasks
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, vendors, and others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions
  • Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5 years hands on experience relevant to electrical power systems and automation engineering
  • Working knowledge of industrial and utility electrical systems control and protection
  • Understanding of substation automation and SCADA \ DCS systems
  • Experience in DCS and SCADA communication networks and protocols
  • Working experience with PLC and PLC programming
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (DNP, IEC, Modbus, ...)
  • Capability to utilize standard engineering and mathematical concepts and principles in the design, coding, and testing of software components
  • PLC experience required. Experience mapping PLCs to SCADA or DCS systems is a plus
  • Must have ability to work with design team and vendors to develop and implement Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance testing of PLC based monitoring systems that are integrated with electrical relays, overloads, and hardwired IO
  • Responsible to support cutover team and plant to assure that electrical information and function properly throughout
  • Must be able to communicate effectively. Must demonstrate a willingness to take ownership of product design initiatives, be Self-motivated with a desire to work in a small, energetic team.
  • Experience with ETAP Enterprise System is a plus
  • The following experience or knowledge is desirable: Real-Time Control Systems or other EMS systems, C / C++ / C#, Visual Basic, SQL 2000, Data Historian (PI, AspenTech, etc.), Shell Programming, Network Monitoring Tools, TCP/IP, VB.NET.
  • Strong analytical skills for use in response to technical queries from customers

Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the daily operations of the human resources department including recruiting, benefits administration, employee relations, coaching and mentoring department managers in HR policies and procedures. Recommends appropriate actions in resolving employee performance issues. Additionally, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for developing and implementing appropriate policies to ensure compliance with state and federal labor regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure company policies and personnel actions are in compliance with appropriate State and Federal labor laws and regulations
  • Conduct New Employee Orientation program including benefit enrollment/401K meetings
  • Maintain Affirmative Action Program
  • Administer Workers Compensation program
  • Ensure consistent record keeping requirements for OSHA compliance including facilitating various safety programs
  • Assure compliance with federal and state mandated programs: ADA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPPA, etc.
  • Administer employee relations programs including team building events, birthday celebrations, wellness, recognitions, etc.
  • Manage recruiting efforts and participate in preliminary interview screenings
  • Maintain employee records including personnel, immigration and medical files as appropriate
  • Manage performance review program and ensure that reviews are completed on time and documented in accordance with company guidelines
  • Ensure consistent application of human resources policies and procedures throughout the company including disciplinary actions and wage and salary administration
  • Develop appropriate policies and procedures to ensure best practices are followed in all areas of human resources
  • Participate in annual review of employee benefit plans and make appropriate recommendations to improve plan offerings while maintaining costs
  • Provide guidance and direction to department managers and supervisors concerning human relations issues including but not limited to recruiting, retention, employee performance including disciplinary actions and termination
  • Develop job descriptions for all new positions and conduct periodic review (at least annually) of all existing job descriptions to ensure they reflect current responsibilities and ensure appropriate classifications are assigned
  • Process Visa invitation letters, H1-B and Permanent Resident applications
  • Lead investigations into alleged wrong-doing or other inappropriate behavior by individuals when such acts have an impact on the workplace (e.g. claims of discrimination or harassment
  • Responds to all third-party requests for employment information (e.g. verification of employment, reference checks, state and federal government agencies)
  • Escalate employment issues to senior management as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of California and Federal labor laws and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to provide a calming influence during tense situations
  • Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of staff
  • Strong knowledge of immigration laws and processes for obtaining work visas and permanent residency
  • Proficiency in of a wide variety of employee benefit plans including Health, Dental, Vision, FSA and 401(k) plans
  • Proven experience in full cycle recruiting of administrative and technical positions
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills utilizing Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field
  • 3+ years in a Human Resources Generalist position
  • 2+ years experience recruiting software developers or power engineers and related technical positions highly desired

Electrical Power Engineer – Library Team

Position Summary

The Electrical Power Engineer’s primary responsibility on the consulting team is to manage the ETAP device library.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To support ETAP development activities including product support, software testing, and other related tasks
  • To research, add, verify & validate ETAP device libraries
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

International Sales Manager

Position Summary

The International Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales activity of the international representative’s sales quota within the assigned customer base. Additionally, this position supports the Regional Account Managers to execute international sales growth and marketing objectives.

Power Systems Engineer

Position Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, power quality analysis, conceptual design, system expansion and training. Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering assignments that will involve power systems analysis, power quality assessment and audits, consulting and design services, and problem solving relative to industrial and commercial power systems and equipment
  • This position would focus on short circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow, transient stability and power quality analysis
  • Interpret specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals and pricing for customers
  • May design and conduct specialized training for customers
  • May mentor or lead other engineers on projects
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

3-5 years experience in power systems engineering
PE license (or equivalent) is preferred
Computer Skills related to creation of reports and presentations in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

Power System Instructor

Position Summary

The Power System Instructor is responsible for developing course curriculum and leading customer training for ETAP University. The ideal candidate will be a polished Electrical Engineer seeking to share their expertise in power systems design and analysis while traveling throughout North America and internationally.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and develop technical course curriculum with input from the advisory board
  • Plan and lead technical course development activities for ETAP University

Position Summary

In this position, the engineer is responsible for development and testing the software. Having the knowledge of electrical engineering, programming with C++/C# and Microsoft Access/SQL databases is required. In addition, engineer will be involved in helping with industrial and distribution system projects.

Position Summary

Develop application software additions and extensions to ETAP -- a sophisticated power system analysis, simulation, and control software. Assist with requirements, design, development, testing, training, and other tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct research on new technology in electric power area
  • Responsible for developing models and algorithms to simulate static and dynamic behavior of electric power apparatus
  • As a team member, responsible for developing commercial level application software for power system design, analysis, and control
  • Assist with designing and developing specification of the software
  • Supervise and assist with testing of the software
  • Responsible for providing advance level training of the software
  • Act as a mentor to less experience engineers and possess the ability to explain ideas and concepts

Qualifications

  • Strong background in one or more fields in power system modeling, analysis, simulation and control
  • Solid knowledge and experience in one or more software programming language
  • Ability to problem solve through creative and analytical thinking
  • Ability to grasp new technologies and react to changes in a fast-paced environment

Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for providing leadership to software development teams through all phases of development from research to deployment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for code development, software design, and engineering
  • Lead and supervise development and deployment of software products
  • Evaluation of existing software architecture, proposing new directions, developing change management plans, and leading change
  • Provide leadership to software development teams and mentor junior staff
  • Oversees the research and development efforts leading to new or improved products

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in software development

  • Proficient in .NET, C#, ASP.NET, SQL, relational databases, multi-tiered software development, and web-based software development
  • Embedded or application level software development experience with C/C++, Java, XML, XSL, HTML
  • Proficiency in development of highly efficient real-time distributed software systems desired
  • Ability to critically evaluate and troubleshoot complex problems
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and procedures
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to effectively participate on multi-disciplinary teams
  • Well-organized and detailed oriented professional, with strong verbal and written communication skills

Education
