ETAP Booth at DistribuTECH

ETAP was on display at DistribuTECH in San Diego, California, the leading annual smart grid event. Over 8,400 attendees were on hand, and post-show statistics showed that 99.3% of attendees said the quality of exhibitors met or exceeded their expectations. That included ETAP’s exhibit, where a brand new booth design debuted that included stunning graphics and large displays for easy viewing of ETAP Real-Time demos.

ETAP’s Smart Grid solution includes a Distribution and Energy Management System that performs Demand Management, Intelligent Load Shedding, Automatic Generation Control, Interchange Scheduling, Switching Management, Renewable Energy Balancing, and a GIS Interface.

Learn to Automate Now! Power System Automation Workshop – Dec 6-10

Power System Automation

Power System Automation

While we consider all of our training events as significant opportunities, none present more opportunities than the upcoming ETAP 185 – Power System Automation. Sign up before Nov 6 and receive $100 off.

This automation training will highlight ETAP Real-Time™, Intelligent Load Shedding, Automatic Generation Control and Energy Management, and Switching Sequence Management.

The ETAP 185 training is also a prerequisite for the newly launched ETAP Partner Program. Those applying for Systems Integrator status must have the skills and experience commensurate with ETAP 185 training; this allows greater market access as there has been a significant increase in interest for ETAP’s Real-Time power management software.

ETAP Intelligent Load Shedding (ILS) has been incorporated by many to provide optimal fast load preservation based on the actual operating condition of the system, including generation operating status, system stability, and load operating conditions and status. ETAP ILS has been selected for its ability to dynamically determine the best load shedding priority within fractions of a second.

ETAP’s Energy Management System includes Automatic Generation Control for managing and optimizing electrical power distribution system facilities. ETAP Interchange Transaction Scheduling module has been used to exchange power between the facilities and a local utility.

Power System Monitoring and Simulation allows companies to determine the appropriate system response to a variety of changes and disturbances, thereby minimizing interruptions to crucial electrical equipment. In addition, ETAP provides energy consumption and cost monitoring and reporting for optimizing energy utilization and tracking system benefits.

iSub includes ETAP Switching Sequence Management software that allows a dispatcher to build a complete switching program using a graphical user interface and execute the switching plan all in one step. Before any switching sequence simulation is executed though, the application verifies whether the sequence is compliant with safety switching procedures and requests confirmation during execution simulation of each step before proceeding to the next step in order to avoid inadvertent switching.
