10th Annual ETAP Nuclear Utility Conference
Nuclear Conference Held in Irvine
This June marked the 10th anniversary of the Nuclear Utility User Conferenece (NUUC) held at Operation Technology, Inc.’s corporate headquarters in Irvine, California where members gathered to share presentations on their use of ETAP software on existing and new nuclear facility design. Doug Larson, an electrical manager at Sargent & Lundy and NUUC Chairperson summed it up by saying, “With the 2010 conference having the largest attendance in recent memory, it shows how proactive nuclear industry users are in sharing solutions and discussing issues with their knowledgeable peers.”
60 out of 64 operating nuclear plants in the U.S. (94%) have standardized on ETAP, and we have a major market share internationally as well. We are looking forward to hosting the user group again next June. You can read the press release here.

ETAP Power Lab at LSU
ETAP Power Lab
The ETAP Power Lab program is a collaboration between Operation Technology and accredited universities worldwide that offer four-year degrees in Electrical Engineering to incorporate ETAP software into the school’s curriculum. Over 40 universities have signed up for this program, and we are looking to expand this extremely popular program worldwide.
The ETAP Power Lab comes with 20 licenses and 25 bus simulation capability. Modules include the ETAP Base Module, Short Circuit (ANSI & IEC), Load Flow, Motor Acceleration, Arc Flash, STAR (Device Coordination & Sequence of Operation) Harmonics, Transient Stability, Unbalanced Load Flow, and Wind Turbine Generator. In addition to this, universities receive full ETAP Technical Support.
The ETAP Power Lab will help students reach their academic goals as well as give the students the tools and knowledge to extend into the workforce. Universities that have installed an ETAP Power Lab have had very high placement ratios with their engineering students upon graduation.
